There are many smokers who are unknown of the facts about smoking. I was just surfing around and gathered some information about the smoking facts. Let me tell you that smoking is the worst thing that a person comes across. Check out the worst smoking facts.

1) The percentage of nicotine included in the cigarettes has increased and as per the Harvard University and the Massachusetts Health Department, there has been an 11 percent increase in nicotine in the brands such as Camel, Newport, and Doral cigarettes.

2) United States is the major cigarette market in the world which has the percentage of smokers such as, Woman - 22%, Men - 35%. Europe has the percentage such as 46% of men smoke and 26% of women smoke.

3) The immune system of the smokers works harder than the non smokers which causes fewer amounts of antioxidants which in turn causes more responsive to virus attacks.

4) In women, smoking half a pack a day causes infertility or irregular menstrual cycles. In the case of pregnant women, the woman passes any chemicals to the unborn children through the placenta. There can also be a slowdown in the baby's growth by reducing the amount of oxygen to the baby when its brain and nervous system are developing.

5) Bidis Smoking delivers twice the amount of tar and seven times the amount of nicotine of cigarettes. Bidis also cause diseases such as cancer and lead to heart disease and high blood pressure.

6) According the reports, there are about 3,000 nonsmoking adults who die due to second hand smoke every year. Secondhand smoking causes coughing, phlegm, chest discomfort and reduced lung function for the non smokers.

7) In United States 500,000 deaths per year are caused due to smoking related diseases. According to the study Male and female smokers lose an average of 13.2 and 14.5 years of life, respectively. The study reveals that inhaling of the vaporized gas form into the lungs is a quick way of delivering drugs into blood which is then passed to heart.
70 % of Bidis sold in the United States do not have the Surgeon General's warning about the health risks of smoking. Bidis are imported from India and are made up of brown leaves which are hand wrapped and tied with a piece thread. More than 400,000 deaths each year in United States are from smoking-related illnesses.
